aristotle didn't have a clue

The Aviator (2004): jack sucked, romeo was pretty good, but howard is leo's role of a lifetime. its hard to tell who is more deserving of the oscar; leo or jamie foxx. both are so believable. the plane scenes in the movie are some of the best special effects i've ever seen. really feels like you are on some ride during the dog fight. and cate blanchett was unreal. this movie is all scorsese though. as much as i would love to see eastwood win the award, it has to be martin. he deserves it more than anyone in the biz. plus you get to see lots of naked leonardo, if that's your thing. its definitely my thing. it is kind of long and it shows in parts, but its very worth seeing.

On the Waterfront (1954): it was okay. i'm sure it was amazing when it came out because its a pretty cool gangster story, but no one likes method acting today and i wasn't too impressed with brando. his character was kind of wimpy throughout the entire movie even until the end (i thought at least). you might say he had a ton of courage, but he was always so unsure of what he should do. again, great movie for '54, but 50 years later i don't think it stood the test of time. don't see.

The Best Years of Our Lives (1946): i was very impressed to see a movie that talked about the aftermath of the war. we've seen movies about the actual war from every angle so this was refreshing. and it should be noted that this movie came out only a year after the war ended. just makes it all the better. they did a superb job of showing nearly every possible scenario of life after the war. of course there are the unbelievable parts like how it takes 2 days to fall in love, but what do you expect from a 40's movie. that's just the way it is. great acting, interesting story, kinda long but its needed to play it all out. i'd say its worth seeing and it deserved best picture. and you gotta love those hollywood starlets! famous chicks today are a dime a dozen. except natalie. she's got starlet written all over her.

finished sopranos last night and boy what a way to end it. i did not see that one coming!!! now i'm just gonna cry each night as i wait for the next dvds to come out. i actually got teary-eyed watching the show last night. what a way to end. i think i committed my first ethical act yesterday. i had to sign up for this law school thing online and had to report all my past schools i've attended. well i had been planning to not include my little semester at CU because i got like a D+ and a B or something. didn't need that screwing up my GPA. but i figured they will probably find those records whether or not i report it or not, so i might as well do it. so basically i probably won't get into any law schools now because of this "good deed" i did. my GPA is now crap because of it, but so long as i'm honest i guess. i'm still bitter about being good, if you even count this as a good deed. my motives are suspect since i'm only doing it because i'm sure i'd get caught in the end. but you all keep thinking i'm good.

and lets talk about girls wanting guys that are badasses. i hate that!!! it is such a ridiculous concept. why can't girls like normal guys? not the retard that lets the girl walk all over him, but the guy right in the middle. the golden mean. i am the golden mean but no one ever saw that. sorry, but i've been wanting to get this off my chest for some time now. guess that serves a nice lesson: if you want the girl, beat them up.
